In Icened Blades, there aren't really any restrictions on rules for characters, except as judged by the GameMaster of the world you're playing in.
Typically, I'll be pretty lenient on what you want to do, but in certain worlds you'll have to follow the rules in order to role-play. For instance, in a human-only world, your character must be a human. Don't feel limited on what you can do though- animals, demons, vampires, and other non-human type things are perfectly acceptable to play, as accepted by the GameMaster.
You may not over-power your character. Period.
The ability to shoot a couple fireballs from a limited magic source within you- OK.
The ability to make enemies implode and die instantly at will unlimitedly- NOT OK.
Ultimately, however, it is the GameMaster's discretion that will allow you to play a given character. Be warned that a GameMaster has every right to ban your character, or even kill him/her off. Be aware, however, that it is perfectly acceptable for your character to become stronger over time.
You may only have one character per world, unless you have a family member of a current character(such as twins) or if the GameMaster allows you to play another character.
When posting your character info, in the subject put the name of the character and the world/GameMaster that you are playing in/for.
In the post you should include in the following format:
Name: (I know you posted it in the subject, but we've gotta be clear)
Race: (Human, Elf, Demon, Vampire, Cat, Wolf, Spirit, etc. In other words, the default state of being your character is in.)
Age: Varies with race, but self-explanatory.
Campaign: (The story you are applying for, i.e. "Icened Blades official Campaign")
Vocation: (General description of what your character does, i.e. fighter, rogue, wizard, healer, etc. Leave the bigger description to the "Abilities" section. If you can't come up with one, GameMasters will be glad to help with the name)
Physical Attributes: (List things such as hair color and eyes as well as physique, including the character's strength and dexterity- a general tip- the tougher the character, the harder they are to kill)
Mind Attributes: (Include things such as character's intelligence level, thought-process, common sense)
Personality:(What your character is like as a person, the things he/she likes, possibly goals that you don't want to mention in your character's past)
Abilities: (What your character is able to do- from picking locks to swinging swords to slinging spells, this is how your character rolls- inside and outside of combat. Remember to be reasonable)
Past: (While this is optional, it gives GameMasters a chance to know where your character came from, and may reveal more about your character that you may have left out)
Picture: (completely optional)
Another note- Depending on the world you play in, the role-playing may be in 3rd or 1st person.
3rd person, you will be saying things like:
(character name) walked over to the Fountain of Life and scooped its healing waters up with the magical vial he was given by the old wizard.
In these situations, GameMasters will be posting things like: <as you put away the vial, you hear an evil voice.> The GameMaster then posts what he says, and so on.
1st person is a bit different- you ARE your character. Example:
I draw my sword, spit on the ground, then ready myself- when before, the GameMaster will have posted something to the effect of: A massive army of orcs, charging in from the south, are quickly closing in on your position. What do you do? (The players then role-play what they do)
This should be enough to make your characters.
Good luck!
